Treasurer / Collector

Treasurer / Collector

Services

The Treasurer/Collector is responsible for all Town of Norfolk receipts as well as municipal and school payrolls.  This department is also responsible for all tax collections including Motor Vehicle Excise Tax, Real Estate, Personal Property and Water. Payments can be made online either from a checking account or with a credit card; put in the dropbox outside Town Hall; mailed to the bank lockbox in the envelope provided; or mailed to One Liberty Lane.

The Town of Norfolk operates on a "fiscal year" basis starting July 1st to June 30th.  Massachusetts law requires that the Town Collector mail bills to owners of record as of January 1st, which is the assessment date.  Any ownership changes after January 1st will be reflected on the following fiscal year bill.  New owners can obtain a duplicate bill at the Treasurer/Collector's office.  Any questions regarding property values, abatements, exemptions, or lot consolidations should be directed to the Assessor's Department at 508-528-1120.
