REMINDER: Norfolk Public Schools, Town of Norfolk to Host Wreaths Across America Mobile Education Exhibit Later This Month

NORFOLK -- Superintendent Dr. Ingrid Allardi and Town Administrator Justin Casanova-Davis remind residents that Norfolk's Freeman-Kennedy School will host the Wreaths Across America Mobile Education Exhibit later this month as part of a special free event open to the public.

Norfolk community members are invited to visit the Wreaths Across America Mobile Education Exhibit (MEE) at the Freeman-Kennedy School, 70 Boardman St., on Wednesday, Nov. 30. from 4 to 7 p.m. The exhibit is not open to the public during school hours.

As part of the exhibit, the town and schools will be honoring Sgt. Adam Kennedy and other veterans who served their country with a wreath laying ceremony on Sgt. Kennedy's Memorial stone at the Freeman-Kennedy School, as well as a pinning ceremony for several local veterans who served during the Vietnam War.

Wreaths Across America is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded to continue and expand the annual wreath-laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery. The organization’s mission is carried out in part each year by coordinating wreath-laying ceremonies at thousands of veterans’ cemeteries and other locations in all 50 states and beyond. Community members wishing to make a donation can visit the Wreaths Across America website. Wreaths Across America is an independent charitable organization, and is not promoted or endorsed by the Norfolk Public Schools or the Town of Norfolk.
